How to improve the situation
Already 30 countries in the world experience problems with water. More than 1 million people worldwide lack drinking water. Scientists predict in 2025 the two thirds of the humanity will experience serious problems with water. Armenia is categorized under average water supplied countries. Most population of the country is provided water supply from underground springs and this water needs no further cleaning.
Underground renewable water resources make up 4,1 billion cubic meters, out of which 1,6 billion flow out from the springs, 1,4 billion flows to rivers and lakes. One of the main resources is Ararat artesian basin.
