Armenian-Iranian Joint Working Group To Examine Possiblr Pollution of Aras River Due to Operations of "Agarak CMC"

A joint Armenian-Iranian working group has been set up in cooperation with Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine to study the possible pollution of the Araks River. According to RA Prosecutor's Office, the working group was set up within the framework of the agreement reached with RA Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan during the visit of the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri to Armenia.

According to the official statement, the company's work on cleaning the wastewater generated during the plant's operation, as well as preventing it from flowing into the Araks River was discussed. The meeting was followed by a visit to the tailing dump section, the operation of the newly introduced closed water system in the operation of the ore processing plant was examined on the spot.
