No Changes to Water Supply Schedule in Yerevan Following Government Intervention

As a result of government intervention, there will be no change to the water supply schedule, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan posted on FB.

“Dear citizens, I would like to address the schedule published a few days ago by ‘Veolia Jur’ company and its content.

I must note that it was assessed as problematic not only by many of you, but also by the Government, and an operative consultation was convened with the participation of all interested bodies. A discussion took place, and a decision was made to suspend the implementation of the schedule.

A task has been formulated for the Water Committee, the Public Services Regulatory Commission and ‘Veolia Jur’ company to conduct additional studies within the next two weeks, as a result of which an updated and improved water supply schedule for 2024 and 2025 will be published.

The basis for such an assertion is the capital works implemented in recent years in volumes tripled both in Yerevan and in regions. Ongoing work is being carried out both to modernize the existing infrastructure and to increase the volumes of water supplied to Yerevan through newly identified water sources,” the Minister stated.

It should be recalled that the previous day ‘Veolia Jur’ CJSC had announced that starting May 1, a 17-hour water supply regime would be introduced at a number of addresses across all 12 administrative districts of Yerevan: from May 1 to September 16, water would be supplied daily from 07:00 to 24:00. Water supply was also to be restricted in the regions.
