Funded by the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia, RA Water Committee launched in December 2025 a program of 13 capital repair works for the overhaul of water supply systems and drinking water distribution networks. The program is scheduled to be completed this year, as the Water Committee informs.
Under the program, the most breakdown-prone water supply systems will be rehabilitated in the administrative districts of Nubarashen, Ajapnyak, Malatia-Sebastia, and Kentron in Yerevan, as well as in the regions — in the settlement of Aknalich in Metsamor community (Armavir Region), in Alaverdi community (Lori Region), and in Ashtarak community (Aragatsotn Region).
As a result of the program’s implementation, it is planned to ensure more reliable management of water supply distribution networks, reduce operational costs, and improve the quality of drinking water. Annual water savings of about 191 liters per second are also expected, which will allow for improvements in the water supply schedule in Yerevan and the regions.
Approximately 6,300 households are expected to benefit from the program.
