Hydrologist-ecologist and independent expert Qnarik Hovhannisyan in her interview with the “First informational” touched upon Hrazdan, as well as other threats posing to environmental system and expressed her concerns in regard with opencast development of mine in Hrazdan, as most probably tailing dumps will also be constructed. “Hazardous elements can penetrate into the reservoir of drinking water together with raining waters,” said the expert and mentioned Yerevan can lose its drinking water because of opencast development of mine in Hrazdan.
