Unequal conditions have been set for the fish farms in Ararat Valley, as many of them use pipes with 200-300 mm diameter, while others use only 2.5 mm.
After letting out the used water the significant part of the land areas have turned into swamps, while high land areas have turned into deserts due to the absence of irrigation water. For the same reason, 5 fish farms are also out of water though fish farmers have mortgaged their cars to establish them.
Nature Protection Ministry assigned to set up working groups, who will examine and present the complete situation together with Ararat Regional Municipality and Agriculture Ministry specialists. Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan outlined that water meters will be installed by September, while certain efforts will be put to use secondary water and fish farms will start operating in the closed cycle for water circulation. Out of 1280 wells many turned out to have no permits.
