Recently the newly reconstructed water pipeline of 1866.4 meters was put into service in Ditak Village, Ararat Region. The water pipeline has been reconstructed within the program 'Ditak community population for prevention of drinking water loss' implemented by 'Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment' NGO.

'We have sampled water from different spots and handed for bacteriological examination. In 4 out of 10 samples the bacteriological samples didn't comply with the indicators of the drinking water,' said Lilik Simonyan, an expert at 'Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment' NGO.

Starting from May 2014 the NGO has been reconstructing 1866.4 meters of water pipeline in Ditak Village thus spending a total of 18 385 328 AMD.

'One street has been left without water, as the pipes are destroyed and it was impossible to join them to the new pipes, otherwise the water would get polluted,' Lilik Simonyan added. Because of lack of funds, the NGO was not able to reconstruct this part. 'The length of the water pipeline to undergo reconstruction makes up 200 meters, which is not big money for the town or regional municipality, in case such huge work has already been done,' NGO President Yelena Manvelyan outlined.
