On July 27, at around 22:00, clashes took place near the second guard point leading to Amulsar mine: we learned about the clashes from Jermuk resident, activist Shirak Buniatyan’s FB live. According to the local residents, the police detained 8-10 Jermuk residents. Now not only the policemen from Vayots Dzor are in Amulsar guard points, but also police officers have arrived from Ararat, Artashat, Sisian and Goris.
Before the clashes, Shirak Bunyatyan said in his FB live that two days ago, six workers entered the Amulsar area, performed some work, whereas after learning that the residents knew about them, they did not leave the mine, saying they were afraid despite the safety guarantees given to them by the residents.
“These two days of peaceful negotiations have not given results, the population got angry again, people have to gather here again. A large number of police officers has gathered. Now the residents demand that the instigators, these 6 people, leave the area. It is clear that they cannot do a lot of construction work or open a mine with these 6 people, their goal is to instigate people with their presence so as to make us angry and take extreme steps. This situation has been going on for a month now, and various measures have been taken to revolt the population,” Shirak Buniatyan said during his FB live before the clashes.
