In the morning of 27 August, as if for the exercise of their rights and the performance of their constitutional committment of taking care of the naturethe administration and employees of Lydian Armenia Company headed off in car columns from Vayq Town to the first checkpoint of Amulsar protection, where they clashed with the local population and Amulsar protectors, who had stated about opposing to Amulsar project and had been blocking all the roads leading to Amulsar for over 2 month.
The administration and employees of Lydian Armenia Company had stated that the resolution of RA Nature Protection and Soil Inspection (the inspection act), which should have been published later, entitled them entering the area of Amulsar and working on the mining project. Amulsar protectors have read out loudly the resolution of the inspection body and learning about the details they were more resolute in not allowing this mining in case of such essential violations. As a result, clashes occurred.
As of 15:00, all the roads leading to Amulsar are under the control of Amulsar protectors, the administration and employees of Lydian Armenia Company have left the area.
Armenian Environmental Front has qualified today's activities of Lydian Armenia Company as violence and provocation.
