“Geoteam” CJSC hasn’t submitted the radiation monitoring program, extents and data for the area surrounding Amulsar mine, as the operation of Amulsar mine hasn’t launched yet: this is the reply received from RA Nuclear Safety Regulatory Authority in reply to its letter.
Reminder: EcoLur asked to inform in writing whether “Geoteam” CJSC (currently “Lydian Armenia” CJSC) has carried out the radiation monitoring in the area surrounding the mine, whether the findings have been submitted to the Committee, if yes, what the findings are.
The reply letter says, “The requirements laid down in the letter of the Chair of Armenian Nuclear
Safety Regulatory Authority Ashot Martirosyan’s letter N 11-Մ-7 dated on 17.02.2012 addressed to “Geoteam” CJSC Director Hayk Aloyan (currently “Lydian Armenia) are in force and the Authority will supervise the performance of these requirements in the course of Amulsar mining operations. The Authority also informs that the radiation monitoring carried out in the mine area on 22 September 2011 by “Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety” didn’t detect any radioactive pollution in the area.
