Still in July 2018, RA Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case based on the willful concealing of information about pollution of the environment by officials of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection in the course of environmental impact expert assessment of Amulsar project. Within the frames of this criminal case, the international expert assessment was delegated to Lebanon-based Elard Company. According to the hearsay, the findings of this expert assessment shall be available soon, so, in this regard, we have a number of observations we present to the public, Investigative Committee and Armenian Government:
· Taking into consideration the fact that this problem relates to the environment, human health and the ecological safety of our state, all the findings of this expert assessment shall be available to the public.
· All the entire reports of the expert assessment shall be published on the website of the RA Investigative Committee both in the English and Armenian.
· Interested stakeholders from science, professional and public circles shall be given an opportunity and time to analyze their reliability, scientific substantiation and comprehensiveness.
· The findings shall undergo public discussion with all the stakeholders and professional parties, especially the residents of Jermuk Community who have been deprived of participation in decision-making on Amulsar since 2006.
