RA Special Investigation Service rejected to investigate the report of the crime filed by journalist Tehmineh Yenokyan against RA Environmental and Mining Inspection. It should be reminded that Tehmineh Yenokyan filed a crime report for its inaction against RA Environmental and Mining Inspection for not protecting the interests of the state and the citizen, and for not attending the lawsuit filed by Lydian Armenia corporation against the inspection.

In response to Tehmineh Yenokyan's report, Deputy Chief of Special Investigation Service of Republic of Armenia, Vladimir Hovhannisyan, First Class Justice Advisor, informed by letter that the investigation of this report is not within the scope of the SIS. "The results of the discussion show that there is no basis for the aforementioned application to be admitted as a report on crime and make a decision on the basis of it, as it does not contain information on the facts of the crime.

The Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia conducts preliminary investigations into criminal cases involving senior officials of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government, public servants. The staff of RA Environmental and Mining Inspection, including the Head, are not among the above-mentioned entities, therefore, RA Special Investigation Service does not have the authority to investigate the alleged crime,” the SIS Deputy Chief's response letter says.
