On 22 June Court To Publish Verdict of Claim Filed Against Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan

The trial of environmentalists and Jermuk residents against RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan took place on June 9, 2020. The 15 plaintiffs in the case demand from the court to oblige Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan to deny the statement he made in Tbilisi on October 22, 2019 that the citizens fighting against the development of Amulsar gold mine are funded by mining businessmen.

The plaintiffs' lawyer Gurgen Torosyan presented his case at the court hearing, where it is particularly mentioned. "The public assessment of the plaintiffs is of great practical importance, as the unjustified negative assessment degrades the plaintiffs' reputation, creates barriers to their good name and public activities over the years, and the defendant's statements to the plaintiffs made in public may have caused a negative attitude ... ”
