RA Environment Ministry Continues Work Aimed at Revealing Sources and Causes of Stork Pollution

RA Environment Ministry informs that the Ministry continues the works aimed at revealing the possible sources of pollution of white storks and its causes.

Considering the cases of contamination of white stork feathers with unknown material during the last two years and the facts on the waste of fish farms (fish guts, etc.) in Masis town landfill site, which are a possible source of pollution as a result of observations of Nature Protection and Mining Inspection Body, under Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan’s assignment, ad hoc letters letters sent to State Revenue Committee with a request to submit information about business entities actually operating in Ararat and Armavir Regions according to the type of economic activity classification as follows: "Fish breeding", "Processing and canning of fish, shellfish and clams", "Production of vegetable and animal oils and fats", "Meat processing and canning", "Poultry processing and canning", “Processing and canning of poultry", "Processing and canning of fruit and vegetables”, "Production of soap, detergents, detergents and polishes, perfumes, cosmetics".

Another letter was sent at the request of Health and Labor Inspection Body to carry out studies on the observance of the norms of sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures of waste in Masis town landfill site in order to prevent ecological catastrophe.
