Problem of Stork Pollution In Center of Environment Ministry's Attention

Upon the instructions of Acting Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan, in order to find a source of pollution and provide a systemic solution to the problem, the relevant subdivisions of the ministry have been studying the issue since May, holding discussions with stakeholders and sending relevant letters to the responsible departments.

Considering the facts on the waste of fish farms (fish guts) located in the landfill sites in Masis, which maybe a possible source of pollution, detected as a result of the inspections carried out by Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body,  Environment Ministry has written to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, asking the ministry to be consistent in the sanitary and hygienic condition of waste disposal in Masis urban landfill sites, observance of garbage waste by private fish farms, as well as cleaning of drainage systems in those areas.

The Ministry appealed to Armavir and Ararat Regional Municipalities to be proactive in submitting information on the accumulated new garbage accumulations outside the landfill sites in Armavir and Ararat Regions, detection of fish farming wastes and recorded cases and submit this information to Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body.
