

On August 16th, the opening ceremony of the “ArtCheese” cheese tasting room took place in the Yelpin settlement of Vayots Dzor region, with the support of the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” project.
“Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” Project is implemented by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Caucasus and Armenian offices (lead implementer) and “Strategic Development Agency” (SDA) NGO, with the financial support of the Swiss Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Representatives of local self-government bodies, the Armenian Tourism Federation and inbound tour operators attended the opening ceremony.
After cutting the red ribbon, welcoming speeches were delivered by Alla Ghazaryan, the representative of the "Strategic Development Agency" NGO and the Project Coordinator the "Living Landscapes of Armenia for Market Development", Davit Sargsyan, the deputy governor of Vayots Dzor, Husik Sahakyan, the head of Areni community, and Artur Nazaryan, the head of the "Yerpin" agricultural cooperative.
In the opening speech, the Deputy Governor of Vayots Dzor Region Davit Sargsyan and Areni community leader Husik Sahakyan highlighted the importance of similar initiatives from community development perspective and assured that this place will soon bring more tourists, will make both Yerpin settlement and the products of the "Yerpin" agricultural cooperative popular.
The support provided to “Yerpin” Agricultural Cooperative for the construction of the “ArtCheese” cheese tasting room within the framework of the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” project aims to contribute to income generation for local people by providing input and supply to tourism, hospitality and related sectors.
