On November 2-3, a training session titled "Experiential Tourism Services and Guidelines for Registering on “LIKE LOCAL Digital Platform" was held in the communities of Ijevan and Yeghegnadzor. The training aimed to support local community members in developing and presenting tourism services using innovative approaches, focusing on how to successfully provide experiential tourism services—from product development strategies to presenting their services on digital platforms.
The training was conducted by Gevorg Babayan, a representative of LIKE LOCAL digital platform, and expert Sirarpi Fahradyan. More than 40 participants attended, ranging from beginners in the ideation stage to small business owners with varying levels of experience in tourism.
Participants were introduced to the specific features of developing experiential tourism products. They were presented with alternative tourism services on international platforms, examining the characteristics of successful experiential services in the global market. Discussions covered service standards, cross-cultural communication skills, guest interaction etiquette, hygiene protocols, and food service requirements.
During the training, participants learned how to register on LIKE LOCAL platform and leverage digital tools to communicate with guests. Interested participants will receive support to enhance their skills and improve the visibility of their businesses within the program framework.
The training emphasized the importance of showcasing local arts, crafts, and experiences, which could attract new tourism flows and generate income, thereby contributing to the development of inclusive tourism in Armenia’s regions.
The training was organized within the framework of "Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia" (LILA) and RECONOMY's "Digitalization for Sector Competitiveness" projects. LILA project is funded by the Swiss government through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented jointly by WWF Caucasus and Armenia offices, in collaboration with the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.
