From April 25 to May 2, 2025, a group of Moldovan tour operators visited Armenia within the framework of two regional initiatives: “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) and RECONOMY’s RECONOMY’s “Digitizing Sectors for Competitiveness” projects The aim of the visit was to strengthen collaboration between Moldovan and Armenian tour operators, introduce the guests to Armenia’s nature-based tourism potential, and deepen regional cooperation.
Alla Ghazaryan, Coordinator of “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) project, presented the project’s key directions, the impact of its interventions, and the tourism products developed as a result. Participants were also introduced to successful models and best practices in the development of nature-based tourism.
Partner tour operators Nueva Vista and AM Travel presented their inbound tourism packages and discussed cooperation opportunities with the Moldovan specialists. A central topic of the discussion was the potential for developing joint regional tourism routes by combining the unique natural, cultural-historical, and gastronomic resources of Armenia and Moldova.
In addition to the working discussions, the Moldovan guests visited target communities of the LILA project and met with representatives of beneficiary tourism initiatives. The visits featured traditional hospitality, tastings of local cuisine, a lavash baking demonstration, and sampling of local beverages and food products.
The visit concluded with a workshop attended by Armenian tour operators involved in LILA project. During the session, the parties explored practical opportunities for developing joint tour packages and established contacts that may evolve into sustainable platforms for tourism cooperation.
