A new project aimed at facing  challenges in rural communities of Armenia

On the 30 th of April 2024, the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (MoTAI), the European Union (EU) (6.2 mln.), and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) (6.1 mln.) launched a new €12.3 million Project, "Sustainable Energy for Climate Resilient Community Development in Armenia" (SE4Resilience), to support energy efficiency and sustainable energy investments in rural Armenia. The project aims to expand the adoption of energy-efficient and sustainable energy solutions within households and public buildings in rural communities located in the Tavush, Shirak, Gegharkunik, and Syunik regions of Armenia.

Deputy Minister of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Mr. Vache Terteryan, Director General DG NEAR, Mr. Gert Jan KOOPMAN, and the Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Armenia, Mr. Erik Tintrup made welcome speeches highlighting the importance of cooperation between the RA Government-EU-MoTAI and the importance of the SE4Resilence project in not only addressing urgent climate challenges but also laying the foundation for economic development in rural areas of Armenia.
