"Art Solar" LLC intends to build a solar photovoltaic station in Shoghakat Community, Gegharkunik Region, Armenia. The second public hearing of the application for the preliminary assessment of the environmental impact of the plant construction is scheduled for 11:30 am, May 2 in the administrative building of Shoghakat Community. The projected power of the solar station is 3218.4 kW.
The solar station will occupy an area of 5.46481 hectares. Under the project, the target area is the facilities of energy, transport, communication, and communal infrastructurea. The planned activity area is located 300 m far away the economic zone of "Sevan" National Park and 2.5 km from Lake Sevan.
Hazardous waste will be collected and stored in a designated area of the intended area of activity, from where it will be provided to the licensed organization for further action. The transfer will be carried out by a licensed organization.
It should be noted that solar panels are classified as hazardous waste and require special management - financial costs, premises, technology. There is no information on the dynamics of waste accumulation, the area occupied, the planned technology.
According to the Public Services Regulatory Commission, 7 solar power plants generate electricity in Gegharkunik Region. 12 solar stations are under construction.
