The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia has suspended the electricity distribution license issued to “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC. On his Facebook page, the temporary administrator of ENA, Romanos Petrosyan, posted: “The PSRC has suspended ENA’s distribution license. ENA serves our people! Long live the Republic of Armenia.”
It should be noted that ENA’s temporary administrator, Romanos Petrosyan, had submitted letters to the PSRC stating that in January 2025 ENA’s automated metering system malfunctioned, the automated electricity metering system data dating back to 2018 had been erased, and that false data had been massively submitted to the PSRC in previous years.
The draft decision of the PSRC titled “On suspending the electric energy (capacity) distribution license No. 0092 of ‘Electric Networks of Armenia’ CJSC” states:
“Suspension of the license as a sanction is not applicable to the company, since complete suspension of the licensed activity would objectively lead to the temporary interruption of electricity distribution throughout the Republic of Armenia - that is, the violation of the right of more than one million consumers, including those receiving services vital for the state, to obtain uninterrupted and quality electricity, with irreversible consequences, which is unacceptable.
At the same time, considering that the violation committed by the company is extremely dangerous by its nature, continuous, and not related in any way to the licensed activity, the Commission finds that in this case, the proportional sanction for the act is the termination of the license.”
