EcoLur" Informational NGO Launched Screening of Series of Videos Entitled "Community and Socio-Ecological Challenges" showing the socio-ecological problems in 6 vulnerable communities in Lori, Gegharkunik and Syunik Regions in Armenia. Residents, experts, activists talk about the prospects for the development of an alternative green economy, how it is possible to contribute to the alternative, sustainable development of communities through joint efforts, how to increase the responsibility of business and the state towards communities, what to do so that young people do not leave the community and actively build the future of their own community.
The videos are shot within the framework of "Social and Ecological Responsibility" project.
The first video presented the social, environmental and economic problems in the enlarged community of Akhtala, Lori Region. In this video, Oleg Dulgaryan, President of Center for Community Consolidation and Support NGO, addressed the problems of pollution in the Akhtala enlarged community, the need to introduce a socio-ecological component in the community development program to identify and reduce environmental risks, and develop a green economy. Project Expert Roza Julhakyan stressed the need to raise awareness among local residents about environmental issues.
“Social and Ecological Responsibility” project is carried out by the NGOs involved in "Social-Ecological Consortium” - “Center for Community Mobilization and Support”, “Martuni Women’s Community Council”, “New Horizons”, “EcoLur” and “Forests of Armenia” NGOs within the frameworks of The Data for Accountable and Transparent Action (DATA) project.
