On August 19, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there is no reason to prohibit the exploitation of the Amulsar mine and that the operation should meet the highest standards. This is a political statement, it contains no guarantees of human health and environmental safety. That is to say, the guarantees are also of a political nature. Both assessments and safeguards need to be transferred to the course of expertise and to obtain an objective expert opinion in accordance with the requirements of environmental legislation and the commitments undertaken by environmental conventions adopted by the country. Thus, 8 conclusions on the Amulsar project have been sent to the RA Prime Minister's Office, which were drafted in 2018 by the experts of the special working group under the RA Environmental and Mining Inspection established by the Prime Minister's decision. The conclusions are contradictory, which proves that the documents of Lydian Armenia Company submitted for the environmental expertise do not allow to objectively and accurately assess all the risks and, therefore, a new examination is necessary. In addition, a letter from the international CEE BankWatch Network was sent to the Prime Minister's office (https://www.ecolur.org/en/news/amulsar/---/10704/) together with the expert opinion of the Balkan Wildlife Union. The report lists five new circumstances that were not reflected in the EIA of the Amulsar Gold Quartzite Mining Project. CEE BankWatch Network has so far not received a response from the Prime Minister's Office. The following conclusions can be found at:
