The representative of "Jin Holding Limited" LLC, which intends to carry out geological prospecting in the area of Urut mineral field (polymetallic) of Stepanavan mineral area in Lori Region, did not show up due to ill health, as the administrative head of Urut Sergo Julhakyan informed EcoLur about this.
Minutes were drawn up with the participation of local residents and activists gathered in the Urut administrative building that the public hearing did not take place because the company representative did not appear. "We wrote in the protocol that the local population is against carrying out mining activities in the settlement, opposes the opening of the mine, the organization of any other hearings on that topic," Sergo Julhakyan said.
Reminder: this was supposed to be the second attempt of "Jin Holding Limited" LLC to hold a public hearing in Urut. In May 2021, Urut residents once again rejected the company's attempt to hold a similar public discussion.
