Laboratories of five foreign companies will determine the final concentration of metals in the concentrate supplied to the mining industry in Armenia, as RA government adopted the decision on January 19, 2022. They are the Australian "ALS" Limited, English "Alfred H Knight International" Ltd, British "Alex Stewart International" Ltd, French "Bureau Veritas" S.A., laboratories of the Swiss company SGS" S.A.
"The conclusions provided by the laboratories will serve as a basis for determining the final concentration of metals in the concentrate for the purpose of calculating the royalty,” the rationale of executive's decision says.
The decision applies to relationships arising after January 1, 2023. The laboratories specified in the list do not have representation in RA and are not RA resident organizations, which, according to the document, is not an obstacle for the samples of the concentrate produced in RA to be submitted for examination to these laboratories.
