The activists of Hrazdan Town addressed a letter to Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan where they express their deep concern in regard with geological prospecting in the territory of iron mine in Hrazdan. The letter particularly says: “We learnt from unofficial sources that the government ordered to conduct expert assessment in the territory of Hrazdan iron mine. Besides that, there is hearsay among Hrazdan population, that uranium has been detected which resulted in deep concern among people.
Such uncertainty may become reason for unrests. Based on the aforementioned, we would like to ask you to submit us and people substantiated explanations to what is laid down above.”
The letter was signed by the Aarhus Center in Hrazdan, “Hrazdan” TV and “Forest to Future Generation” NGO, “Fund for Children Support” NGO and “Center for Supporting and Protecting Kotayk Interests” NGO.
