The Administrative Court has partially turned down the claim issued against Amulsar open pit mining project and construction of a heap leach facility, as Laywer Arthur Grigoryan stated at the round table discussions on Amulsar project held at Aarhus Center Yerevan on 6 May.

The claim against Nature Protection Ministry, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry and Lake Sevan Preservation Expert Committee was issued by Gndevaz villagers, who are located in the immediate impact zone of the project, 'Ecoiravunq' and 'Ecodar' NGOs thus disputing the positive environmental expertise opinion of the EIA and the lawfulness of a number of legal acts.

'One of the grounds for the rejection is that the environmental expertise opinion is not an administrative act. The grounds for such a rejection are already appealed in the Court of Appeal,' Arthur Grigoryan said.

It should be mentioned that the third party here is 'Geoteam' CJSC – the subsidiary of offshore 'Lydian International' Company, which is going to develop Amulsar mine.
