In the past two weeks, three earthquakes have occurred near Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant. On January 8 2020, earthquakes of magnitudes of 4.9 and 4.5 and, respectively, and on December 27, 2019 earthquakes of magnitude 5.1 occurred near Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. According to Ria Novosti, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has disseminated a press release about it.
According to the USGS, an earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred at 2.20 UTC. The epicenter of the earthquake was located ten kilometers south-east of Borazjan. The second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred at 03:19 UTC. The epicenter was 17 kilometers southeast of Borazjan. An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred 50 kilometers from the nuclear power plant in southwest Iran. According to Ria Novosti, the plant is located in the south-east suburb of Bushehr.
