

On November 26, a Governmental Support Agreement was signed between the Republic of Armenia and Masdar Company, registered in the United Arab Emirates, for the construction of a 200 MW Ayg-1 solar photovoltaic plant. It was signed by RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan and Masdar Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Jamel Al Ramah. According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, Masdar Company, which was recognized as the winner of the tender for the implementation of the program in July 2021, submitted a tariff of $ 0.0290 per kilowatt/hour. The total investment cost of the project will be $ 174 million.
The solar station to be built within the framework of the project will be the largest in Armenia.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Armenia Mrs. Ahlam Al Salami, representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Armenia Mrs. Ahlam Al Salami, in her turn, noted that the signing of this agreement will contribute to the strengthening of stable cooperation between the two countries.
85% of the shares of the joint company created for the implementation of "Ayg-1" program belong to Masdar Company, 15% to Fund of State Interests of Armenia. "Ayg-1" will be built in the territory of Talin and Dashtadem Communities in Aragatsotn Region, Armenia. It is planned to put into operation in 2025.
