The Scientific-Expert Committee on Lake Sevan Preservation has issued a negative opinion to Amoulsar gold mine development in Vayots Dzor Region. The Chairman of Scientific-Expert Committee on Lake Sevan Preservation Vladimir Movsisyan made this statement at this meeting with the journalists on 27 March.
“They hoaxed us and concealed that ore processing should take place, nevertheless, we learnt about it on the Internet and other ways. Amoulsar is not located in the immediate affected zone of Lake Sevan basin, but it’s located next to Kechout reservoir, and its water flows into Sevan. It doesn’t matter whether we want or don’t, the cyanide will flow into Kechout and them to Sevan via Arpa-Sevan tunnel,” Vl. Movsisyan said.
Reminder: The right to develop Amoulsar gold mine belongs to “Geoteam” company, the founder of which is Canadian “Lidyan International” Company.
