On January 19-20 of this year, "EcoLur" Informational NGO held a course on "Make your place known" in Hermon settlement,f Vayots Dzor Region, for the training of public journalists. The training was carried out within the framework of "Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia " (LILA) project.
Active residents of Shatin, Vernashe, Gladzor, Artabyunk and Shaghat settlements, Syunik Region, participated in the training. Within the framework of the training, the participants gained knowledge about public journalism, got acquainted with the goals of LILA project and the activities implemented in communities, climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.
Working information platform has been established that will be used to publish information from public journalists. At the training, the participants prepared materials about the problems, opportunities and development prospects in their settlements, which will be published during the open launch of the platform.
At the end of the course, the participants received certificates.
Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia (LILA) is a 7-year project aimed at preserving the livelihoods of the rural population of Armenia through protection and sustainable use of natural resources in mountainous ecosystems of Armenia. The project is funded by the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Caucasus and Armenian offices in collaboration with Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO and with the support of EcoLur Informational NGO.
