Lori region, Qarkop Villager Hovsep Ghumashyan, the Hetq
There is a power plant station next to Qarkop Village which was in the past known with “Ayrum Hydropower plant”. Recently hydropower plant management conducted a capital renovation in the hydropower plant constructed in the 30’s of the last year. Hydropower plant management has long illegally closed the riverbed and made a decision to pump all the water towards hydropower plant. As a result, about 5 km of Debed riverbed has completely deprived of water.
