Inspection Body of Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of the Republic of Armenia has carried out studies on the future operation of Teghout CJSC to check the firmness of the dam and barrier of the tailing dump and to provide complete information about its further operation.
As a result of the study and on spot examinations, it was recorded that the piezometric indices provided by Teghout CJSC and no apparent deviations in the vertical or horizontal deformations of the geodesic points were found, the tailings dam data were within the normal range, no shifts in the fixed data points were recorded, at this moment the dam is in a stable state. Besides that, as of August 12, 2019, the tailing dump is operating in accordance with the projected volumes.
The specialists of Inspection Body of Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of the Republic of Armenia did not find any water accumulations and leaks in the tailing dump operated by Teghout CJSC during the tailing dump and the tailing pipeline site inspection.
The dam, data of the piezometric indices given by the operator, as well as information on the movements of the fixed coordinate points in the control points have undergone observational study. As part of the investigation and trial, Teghout CJSC was instructed to perform an expert assessment and to determine the possibility of further operation from the results of the examination.
During the examination, Head of Inspection Body, along with representatives of Teghout CJSC, walked around the entire mine, tailing dump, and plant. They have studied the work done so far. The Chief Engineer has presented some facts about the work done so far, according to which the dam and tailings damp are in satisfactory condition for operation based on the obtained preliminary data.
