On October 13 the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia adopted the draft laws on the dissolution of the National Water Council. According to the bill, the National Water Council has lost its expediency. According to the National Water Council Regulation, it was the highest advisory body in the field of water resources management, which through intersectorial participation discussed and made recommendations on national water policy, national water program and other legal acts related to water. The President of the National Water Council was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The instruction of RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan was the basis for the dissolution of the Council. The responsibilities of National Water Council will be transferred to the Ministry of Environment.
