

Water releases from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes have commenced.
As of 6 July 2026, 2.016 million cubic metres of water had already been released from the lake through the Hrazdan Hydropower Cascade canal.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia has set the maximum volume of water that may be withdrawn from Lake Sevan for irrigation in 2026 at 143.6 million cubic metres, including 3.6 million cubic metres allocated under the water use permit issued to the Gegharkunik Water Users' Association.
As of 6 July 2026, a total of 145.636 million cubic metres of water had flowed into Lake Sevan through Arpa–Sevan water tunnel.
The lake's water level continues to rise and, as of 7 July 2026, stood at 1,900.78 metres above sea level. During the corresponding period last year, the water level was 1,900.68 metres.
