Upon the demand of Garni residents the heavy machinery designed for the construction of Qaghtsrashen gravity irrigation system was completely taken out of Azat Gorge. Garni-Yerevan highway is completely open.
'Garni residents insisted up to the very end to take the whole construction machinery out of Azat Gorge. The road is now open again.' Levon Galstyan, a member of Pan-Armenian Environmental Front told EcoLur. The highway was closed for 9 hours.
