The trial of environmentalists and residents of Jermuk v. RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan continued on June 5, 2020. The 15 plaintiffs in the case demand from the court to oblige the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan to deny the statement he made in Tbilisi on October 22, 2019, that the citizens fighting against Amulsar gold mining are being funded by mining businessmen.
Plaintiff Ani Khachatryan, a member of Armenian Environmental Front initiative, gave her testimonies at the court hearing. As in previous sessions, this time the representatives of the respondent did not appear at the court session.
In his conversation with EcoLur, the plaintiffs' lawyer Gurgen Torosyan said that the lawsuit against RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan is in the final stage of investigation.
The next court hearing will take place in on June 9, 2020.
