We asked Jermuk Mayor (Republican Party member) Vardan Hovhannisyan what is his opinion of Amoulsar gold mine development. “I hold the opinion this will harm Jermuk without any doubts,” Mayor said. “We have our gold for many years in Jermuk, we don’t need other gold. …If the government decided, it should be developed, the government should be able to convince me it won’t harm the town. But I don’t think that the government will do this step… If there any problems, I will be with my people, because it were people who elected me, and not the government,” Jermuk Mayor said.
