The ban on the export of whitefish caviar from the territory of Armenia was extended for another 6 months: this resolution was reached by the executive at the cabinet meeting on December 21, 2023.
According to the rationale of the resolution, as a result of the process of regulating industrial fishing of whitefish in Lake Sevan, in recent years, there has been an increase in whitefish biomass in the lake: 2668 tons in 2019, 2345 tons in 2020, 5348 tons in 2021, and 4700 tons in 2022, which makes it possible to ensure a small amount of industrial fishing in Lake Sevan: 300 tons in 2020, 300 tons in 2021, 600 tons in 2022, 600 tons in 2023.
