For the communities of Akhtala, Shnogh and Alaverdi in Lori Region of Armenia, civil society offers alternative development programs aimed at the establishment and development of social and individual entrepreneurship in different areas of the region. Eco-agro-gastro-rural tourism, innovative agriculture and light industry are considered as key areas.
Alternative development plans developed in participatory format were presented by community development expert Artur Vardazaryan at Alaverdi Alternative Development Forum held in Haghpat village on January 23-24, 2020 and organized by Center for Community Mobilization and Support NGO.
The final versions of alternative development plans will be submitted for approval of Aldermen’s Councils of Akhtala, Shnogh and Alaverdi communities and Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
Oleg Dulgaryan, the president of Center for Community Mobilization and Support NGO, said that a forum of this format and content has been held for the first time in the region.
