The fight against vermins in Yerevan has been launched: trees are being sprayed. On 8 May EcoLur’s camera fixed how trees on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue were sprayed because of the increase in vermins. “These are beetles, which suck the juice of the trees. They also eat leaves and half of the leaves are missing in the autumn. They have reproduced so much as since the Soviet period there was no planned fight,” said Mark Qalashyan, an employee of “Reserve Complex” SNCO in his interview with EcoLur on 5 June. In reply to EcoLur’s question to what extent the fight against vermins is effective through deep pruning, as Yerevan Municipality presents it, Mark Qalashan said, “Vermins have no connection, there is nothing like that.”
