Today EcoLur has received an alarm signal that a tree is being cut down in the Botanical Garden, Yerevan. EcoLur contacted Deputy Director of the Institute of Botany of NAS RA Gagik Movsisyan who said that tree pruning and lessening works are in progress in the Botanical Garden. According to Movsisyan, trees along Tsarav Aghbyur Street have grown up and now they are lessening this area to ensure light for trees. Only dry trees are cut down, which have some kinds of diseases. Those trees are pruned, the branches of which have grown out to the road and damage the electricity wires.
Reminder: During the urban tree planting to be held on 9 April, tree planting will also be carried out in the Botanical Garden.
