EcoLur has prepared a new "Pambak: Climate Challenges" video, which was filmed before the catastrophic flood of May 26. The overflowing Debed destroyed roads and buildings, collapsed bridges, flooded houses and basements, washed away the fertile layer of the soil, causing huge human, material and ecological damages.
39 settlements have been recognized as a disaster zone, including Dzoraget and Vahagnadzor villages of Pambak consolidated community. The negative impact of climate change was evident in Pambak even before the flood. Before the disaster, EcoLur talked about these problems and climate challenges with representatives of Pambak community's local self-government bodies and local NGOs.
The video was prepared within the framework of “Impacted communities and civil society organizations as participants in the introduction of socio-ecological culture in the energy and climate change policies of Armenia”project implemented by "EcoLur" Informational NGO. The project is implemented with the support of the "EU4Climate" regional program and the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Program.
