Interpretation of "Mass Civil Disobedience" in New Draft Mining Code Unacceptable

The notion of "mass civil disobedience" qualified as problematic by the civil society, which is considered an insurmountable force in RA draft law "On Making Amendments to RA Mining Code", has been interpreted. "Civil disobedience, we consider the civil actions taking place in the Republic of Armenia, non-violent boycotts, which take place against RA authorities or the government, against any policy," RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hovhannes Harutyunyan gave this interpretation at the "Right Time" program.

This, in fact, means that the public protests will become meaningless, through which the society will demand from RA government invalidate the environmental expert opinion, terminate the soil management use right due to environmental, health, social issues, as it will be considered as an action directed against RA authorities or government policy.
