Environmental Public Court To Try "Continous Elimination of Dalma Gardens" Case

Environmental Public Court To Try

Public Environmental Court will try the case of "Continuous Elimination of Dalma Gardens" at the Article 3 Club (Zarubyan 32) on February 7, 2011, at 3:00 pm. Until 2000 Dalma Gardens were included in the list of state monuments in Armenia. However, the authorities arbitrarily revoked the status of the park monuments, and the Armenian government granted Yerevan municipality permission to carry out urban development projects in the area.

The decisions on the delimitation and privatization of Dalma Garden areas, orchards as a natural and historical-cultural site, were reached with the gross violations of RA legislation and international obligations.

The public has been fighting against the illegalities of Dalma Gardens for 20 years, but illegal activities continue to this day.

Public Awareness and Monitoring Center NGO and Dalma-Sona Foundation, in partnership with EcoLur Informationa; NGO, are organizing Public Environmental Court to raise awareness of human rights violations, illegal acts committed and still in progress in Dalma Gardens, to recognize them as a crime to hold the culprits accountable.
