Lydian Armenia Company is preparing a response to the letter of over 40 international organizations sent to Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan on Amulsar Mine, as Lydian Armenia Deputy Director for Sustainable Development Armen Stepanyan told the journalists in the frames of the conference dedicated to the first national report on the EITI in Armenia.'We don't qualify it as a pressure of international society, we have another qualification. There are numerous similar precedents worldwide. We are preparing our response and it will be published in near future and you all will learn our position,' Armen Stepanyan said.
Reminder: over 40 European NGOs and associations sent a letter to Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, where they express their support to the residents of Jermuk, Gndevaz, and Ketchout, the activists and representatives of the civil society so as the Armenian Government to act on the Amulsar mine project for the benefit of people and environment.
The copies of this letter have been sent to President of EBRD Suma Chakrabarti and United Nations Special Rapporteur on Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association Clément Nyaletsossi Voule.
Speaking about blocked roads in Amulsar Armen Stepanyan said that the company has incurred losses of dozens of millions. In reply to the question whether they will try to compensate damage from the government in court he said all the options are possible.
