Today, Radio Aurora published a video showing yellowish water flooding streets in Kapan following heavy rainfall.
The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body responded to the report, stating that administrative proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident.
According to the Inspection Body: “Administrative proceedings have been launched concerning the flow of yellow-orange colored water from Qavart mine area into the streets of Kapan as a result of heavy rainfall in the town. As part of the proceedings, appropriate investigations are being conducted. Water samples have been collected on-site to determine their composition and assess any potential environmental impacts. Additional information will be provided following the laboratory analyses and as the proceedings progress," as Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body informs.
