The nation genofond has been endangered: we speak about the residents of Alaverdi Town and its adjacent residents. Under him, the copper smelting factory and many mines in Alaverdi have polluted environment in the recent decade, but today these toxic substances have found themselves in food from environment with their hazardous consequences on the human organism.

The whole agroproduct grown in Debed Gorge pose danger to people, as they can cause cancer and negatively affect on human hereditary and reproduction functions,” said A. Saghatelyan.

The mining industry has been operating without any control recently. “The government must be much more cautious when we speak about genofond preservation, as if there any genofond mutations in future, it will be very complicated to recover,” said A. Saghatelyan.
