Each mining company in Armenia considers it to be its duty to construct its own gold extraction plant. That’s why you can already 3 plants constructed in a tiny territory. Ararat gold extraction plant (Ararat Region) owned by GeoProMining Gold processes concentrate from Sotq gold ore and Meghradzor gold mine. Not far you can find the cyanic tailing dump. It’s already over a year since Meghradzor Mine doesn’t belong to GeoProMining Gold, it’s purchased by Meghradzor Gold Company, which has presented a construction project of its own cyanic plant. The area of the cyanic plant is located in the territory of Meghradzor resort (Kotayk Region) directly ovr Marmarik River, which is a source of water supply for all adjacent villages of Meghradzor-Hanqavan resort zone.
Another cyanic plant is located in Masis (Ararat Region), Masis gold extracting Plant owned by “Assat” LLC. Thus, gold concentrate obtained from Tukhmanuk mine (Aragatsotn Region) is processed purchasing it from Mega Gold.
“Paramount Gold Mining” CJSC finished building a cyanic plant 500 meters from dwelling houses in Hrazdan (kotayk Region). This plant will extract gold from Lusajur mine, which is a part of general Meghradzor mine. Besides, Geoteam Company has also presented a project on cyanic plant, which owns Amoulsar mine (Vayots Dzor Region). Under the preliminary data, the area of the plant in located in the drainage area of Arpa and Vorotan Rivers, which is a part of Lake Sevan basin.
