The Administrative, Appeal and Cassation Courts of Armenia rejected Jermuk resident’s claim to recognize Jermuk resort town as Amulsar project affected zone. Reminder Jermuk resident Victoria Grigoryan sued Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan, RA Nature Protection Ministry and “Environmental Expertise” SNCO demanding from the court to obligate the respondents to recognize Jermuk town population, Vayots Dzor Region, including the plaintiff, as Amulsar gold mining project affected community. Nevertheless, Administrative and Appeal Courts of Armenia rejected the claim, while the Cassation Court of Armenia returned the appeal complaint explaining this that the appeal is not signed by Victoria Grigoryan’s representative.
Amulsar gold mine to be developed by Lydian International Company’s subisdiary “Geoteam” CJSC is located in a distance of 12 km from Jermuk. Gndevaz, Gorayk and Saravan villages are located in the same distance, but they were recognized as the project affected zones, while Jermuk was not.
